Meet Phoebe, my new exotic bengal kitten. She is an F6! She is very photogenic and loves to get her picture taken! I know the sunlight is a bit bright in this photo but....that is why she was laying there, she loved the warm sunshine! Edited with Picnik for the softness. What do you think? JuneBug

well, it is a little bright, I guess, just wish you could see some highlighting of Phoebe a little bit more. But I still like this image regardless.

The soft effect works here, June. Might've tried reducing or cropping some of the over exposure on the right though.. it's a bit distracting. As for the compostion, great placement.

I think the effect you used was just right being that softness is what a kitten represents along with the playfulness that she seems to have abandoned for a fraction of a second so you could capture her wonderful face.

I happen to agree that the treatment you employed works well.
Really a wonderful composition June. Well-balanced, good placement of Phoebe and her, er, toys? Love the leading diagonal lines created by the knitted/wool ... er, thingies.
If you revisit Phoebe's portrait once again (and I see from your galleries that you have) ... the only caveats for your image here that I have (and in IMHO, of course) are the highlights and catch lights in Phoebe's eyes.
So ... a bit of playing around with light, white paper or cardboard to reflect, material to diffuse/block some of the natural light ... and your image here goes from good, if not very good as presented ... to excellent.
She's adorable. And this is a good shot.
