I like this, the lion looks almost real and you can almost hear him roar! good job.

This statue is very neat, yet a little on the creepy side. LOL his eyes look like there rolling back in is head. Then again it has a this mighty look about it, with the lion and his teeth in view...these statues are always interesting to look at,especially really old ones. They seem to know so much of the past,a piece of history hidden in the stone...Great capture and thanx for posting! :)

Not your typical lion. The eye's appear almost human and the front teeth look like dentures..lol. A great, very detailed image. Well done!

Looks like someone was having a little fun artistically on this statue. I see a baboon/gryphon/lion with a curious mixture of mane hair/snake/combed locks around his head. The paw and the toes and the nails are all out of proportion to the rest of the body, and it's as if he could not only rest them on that ball, but could also pick it up and chew on it with his sharp back molars, but he'd be gumming it eventually by the looks of the worn down porcelain in the front..What a strange creature..and I'm sure there are many other representations that I'm not seeing in this. I wish I could see it "in the flesh" so to speak :) Composition-wise you've done a masterful job of placing us underneath this fearsome...may I suggest loathsome?....creature, so that we have no doubt that he is dominating the scene and is daring us just try and look around at the other elements in this intriguing picture. So I'll snub my nose, but keep one eye out for him as I look around at the arches and other angles you've captured, not to mention the carvings and more life like creatures standing in graven splendor. The lighting, DOF and clarity is handled just right in my humble opinion to capture our attention and hold it while we view the detail..excellent :)PJ
