The tight DOF is what makes this shot interesting (obviously). However, I found myself a little disappointed when I viewed it full screen. The picture seems to be very noisy (not bad in itself) but combined with a pixelated shot compounds how it stands out. I really like the tight DOF you've captured here, the subject is quite interesting actually. But I do find the bright field on the right side of the frame very distracting. I would suggest metering on a brighter spot, overall this should make the picture a little bit darker and hopefully tone down the distraction.

I agree with the picture needing to be a tad darker. But I love the idea! Reminds me of my good ol' softball days. The color of the fence is fabuolus. Really adds a lot to the photo.

I have to agree with what's been said above, especially about the brighter sport on the right side, if you ever get a chance to take this fence again, maybe try an angle that will get more of the fence in... but I do like the idea and the fact that it's blue is very nice!

The fence is actually grey.

But messing with Adobe Lightshow made it look blue.

I too like this idea. Perhaps the model fell short. It would be great to find the exact perfect subject in another surrounding.

Yesterday's history. Tomorrow's a mystery. Today's a gift. That's why it's called the present.
