This is an ad that I designed for an imaginary perfume company I developed for a class last semester. I developed the logo, the packaging, the ads, the bottle...stuff like that.
We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
I like the logo too, and the idea behind the shot. What a great assignment! I like the portrait as well, you definitely brought out a 'look'. I don't think it works as an ad though, because the two elements don't look as if they're combined. I'm not sure how I would tackle that - you've tried with the colour of her scarf but I think the logo is too small. I'd also avoid cutting the portrait into the frame as it makes it all feel a bit 'cramped'. But I don't want to be harsh, I wouldn't know where to start with this and I think you produced really good elements. I hope you got good marks!!
the logo is genious. simple, clean and has an air of style. perfect for a perfume bottle, however i believe the model needs a lot of work, as the shot of her is flat. it looks like she was shot under flourescent light or smthg.. not trying to dog on you as this is an excellent work, i just think if she had better lighting, like a key light on one side of her face, and a backlight to bring out the hairline, this could be a lot better.
