This is my very first attempt at an actual 3DsMax production. Took me about 2 days, and is all my creation. I'm pretty satisfied with my first 3D art creation! Tell me ways to improve it, because I'm a complete newbie!

My hubby will love this. Only thing that distracts me are the stars. You should be very pleased with your efforts.

Very good job! The stars are nice in the background but they are also visible on the board and pieces! Is it possible to decrease the transparency of this? Top marks:-)

You should be very proud - I've done a lot of 3d modelling but I haven't used 3ds MAX. The stars are reflected on the piece - the pieces aren't transparent. I think the stars were a good and subltle way to break up the void of the background. Keep up the great work!

I've been trying to exclude the star reflection, I didn't like it either. I need help though. 3DsMax6: I know how to exclude specific objects from specific reflections, but how can I exclude the enviroment backdrop, which in this case is the Star background? Any pro's out there know?

hey, to help your star problem first, when you go to a bit map under reflect then choose raytrace, under the raytrace modifyer go to where it says use inviroment settings where it is already clicked on, then under that there is a black box, click on the little circle next to it than it is fixed ok. see ya
