This picture was taken at around 3 in the morning, moon shining brightly. It was taken on a fishing trip, hundreds of miles from civilization so no light polution. Let me know what I could do to make it better.
I wish I could aid you in bettering this, I am sure that there are more accomplished photographers that will do that in their commentary.
Given the time of day/night, I think you did well with the exposure. The composition is good. I really like the moon's reflection just hitting on the edge of the dock. For me, it completes your image's title and suggests something more. Allows for some interpretation, if you will.
The caveat would be the graininess present in the photo. As a suggestion until someone else more qualified comes around, have you looked into any of the tutorials here on the site? That might be a good first step.
As is, I do like this. It is very reminiscent of my own fishing trips and you put me right back with the lures, lines and loons. (Canada, here :) . )
A great capture of this night scene. The comp looks fine to me and the color with the deep blue is perfect. It does have some "Noise "in it but it is not at all distracting given the darkness..My new desktop.
I am WAY behind THANKING, viewing and commenting! My apologies! I care very much for everyone and will catch up asap! Thanks for all the nice comments on my work!
