The Cornish coast is composed of granite, a rock that creates the bleak, heathland scenery of the area and which forms dramatic, shattered cliffs on its Atlantic face.

Hi Mick, Now I can see what you mean about Cornwall looking so like the South African Coast. I guess the similar geology [granite] links them too. This is a beautifully balanced image and I just LOVE the light you've created on the cliffs and wildflowers. Stunning!! Can't wait to see this wonderful part of the UK when I visit it in the Autumn.

This is cool. Ur own style of making the image gloomy works good with this one too. I wonder why u hate high contrasts this much lol. Good work :))

Great colours Mick mate.....love the way you satch'ed the foreground and made those clouds somewhat 'ominous'....Most of the piccies I took down there..there was a little too much 'heat-haze'!
Into my favs folder it's gone.......

Very nice capture, Mick. Nice and sharp and just the right amount of foreground to provide good depth and framing. The cloudy day and slight underexposure adds a softness to the shot and I love the way the ocean blends into the distant sky. Thanks too for the details. As a geologist I always like having some details on the rocks.

Hi Mick, what a marvelous scene of gorgeous blended blues of the sky, flecked with floating clouds over rocks of pillar strength! Then Mick and his camera surrounded the scene with dark rich tones of greens and browns, then wrapped this wonder in a bow of nature's beauty, for completion, and all of this for our pleasure! Thanks Mick, it is truly lovely! Sincerely, Marilyn

I've taken many pictures of what I consider to be one of the most beautiful places in England. You've appealingly captured Cornwall's rich and hoary landscape.
