These engine houses with a carpet of daffodils in the foreground are now landmarks to Cornwall’s now-defunct mining industry... Made from locally quarried stone and slate, they housed the powerful beam engines used for pumping water from the mines.....Please enjoy.

The colors in here are very inviting and the contrasts and textures are really super.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I would so love to be sitting at the top of that field and wrapping myself in that colorful field and gazing down the hill..thinking of days gone by and not worrying ABOUT SNOW :( Beautiful upload, Mick.

My favourite element of this photograph is the contrast in the key elements - the flowers and the building. A new version of 'beauty and the beast'. Remarkable work.

Awesome Les! This capture looks both real and unreal at the same time. The contrast in color and texture terrific. Excellent job on this!

This looks like a drawing with water colors. Great job. I understand, why they are landmarks today and I also love those beautiful flowers in the foreground.

The flowers stick out so much, and look great. The bottom half almost looks like a Van Gough painting :)

A wonderful contrast of beauty and something that was not so beautiful in its day. Now, with age and time the engine houses meld into the countryside, at home with the memories they contain. The only thing missing as I look at this is the wonderful scent those daffs must have given.
Another picture that tells a story - thanks Mick.

A very stunning image. The colour contrast between the yellowish foreground and the purplish sky is very striking. A misty and romantic feeling. Thanks for sharing such a lovely view.
