This is just one of the remains of numerous ruins of the old Cornish mines. It is hard to grasp the conditions the miners would have laboured under as they brought up tin from the earth...They now stand proud on the landscape as a longlasting tribute to Cornwall's Industrial Heritage....Please enjoy

I was hoping it wouldn't be a picture of you?....

I like this...the owd buildings always a have a history..and usually are photogenic!...I would have liked to see a bit more detail in the building part!..

A terrific post though!

A wonderful ole building. If only those walls could talk, what tales they could tell. I am glad they have allowed these building to carry on living and destory them along with the industry. Beautiful colours and lighting as usual. A very lovely capture.

Wow, I like the almost ominous background you have in this picture. It is a great background for the kind of spooky lookin' building. The bright green grass in the foreground gives the appearance that not all life has dimished in this place. Nicely done!

Another great one Mick. I love the bold colors and the deep dark brooding background. I see you left the gate open to invite us in to look around. Reminds me of the movie: "How Green Was My Valley." Quite the hardship working in the mines. Made a man old before his time. The old ruin turned out like it made so many men. Good post.

Very bold ... just my kinda art. That you could turn this tragic piece of history into a work of art brings credit to your skills.

These ruins look striking and austere against that beautiful sky. I love the vegetation and the richness of the composition. A fantastic image as always Mick.

Fantastic image, though I'm a little confused as to why it's in the computer gallery. Is it a computer-manipulated photo, maybe?

It really is terrible when you image what the conditions must have been like isn't it. Working underground with none of the reassurance of today's technology and health and safety regulations. You captured some of that in the image, it's picturesque but still has an air of grimness about it. That sky's full of foreboding too.

Stunning work on this grim subject Mick.
The vibrant colours make it eye catching but the atmoshere of the scene is still austere.
So many gorgeous colours here - in the stonework especially and the bright gorse contrasts perfectly with it.
