Hay bales in fields dominated by the reminders of a great mining heritage-the ivy covered Cornish engine houses….There is an old English saying…”A swarm of bees in May is worth a load of hay”….Please enjoy.
Your images are always so Colorful and Vivid Mick.
The Contrasting Sky really POPS in this One.
Hay Bales Foreground, Hay Bales Midground and Hay yet to Bale in Background. Hay everwhere I look.
Thanks for sharing All This Hay. LOL.
Take Care .
Outstanding work Mick. There is so much depth to this image and the vivid coloring just stands out so well. A wonderful image my friend. You sure do come up with some wonderful images and your top notch on the editing. sandi♥
Just great Mick. The shot is really good. Jan just posted one that was good as well. I love the lighting in your shot as I always do. I have a few shots but I sure don't have ruins like that in the background. Have a good Sunday.
Wow, everything about this photo is wonderful. The comp is superb, very interesting right off the bat. Colors are simply brilliant, and the lighting is just right. I have seen those hay bales when I was on the road with my husband in Montana, and I had never seen them before, I am used to seeing square bales. I wanted to get a photo of them, but never did. This image is even more beautiful than the ones I was admiring in person. You have captured so much beauty, the sky, the ruins, the hay bales, thank you, faving this one for sure. 10+
Amazing lighting Mick as usual. Brings back great memories of haybale walking competitions, when I was too young to understand why the farmer came to chase us out his fields with his gun lol. Ohh happy days :) Another one faved x
I always have a ton of anticipation when I see your name come up on my "Friends" list because I know I am in for a visual treat. No disappointment here. This is gorgeous. A keeper.

We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
This is a beautiful composition Mick, with the two rows of hay bales, the lines of the hedges and the positioning of the engine house. The light and golden hay are really good too. I'm going to be controversial here though, particularly given the (well-deserved) high score and say I'd like to see it brighter and with a little less post work. That's not to say I don't like this version - it's great - but I would like to see it looking a little more natural for comparison.

Hi Mike, this is such a lovely shot and i love the old tin mine in the background. I have been in your neck of the woods this week and will be posting some shots of Bude and Boscastle shortly but not a patch on yours!

The land endures, even as the bricks crumble. Those mine relics are making a landscape shot something quite out of the ordinary...and the colors in the pic are bold and satisfying.
