Cornwall UK woke to find itself under a thick blanket of snow on Monday, which has been causing misery for commuters and joy for the thousands of children who saw their schools closed. Before the happy snow memories disappear all together for another season I decided to put together a small collection of my favourite Cornish snow shots..This is my first one....Please enjoy.

What a lovely tranquil scene, Mick. I especially like the light and dark contrast in sky and snow, enhanced by the duotone colouring of your image. Looks like a good spot to play Snow Angels!

I will be interested to see your shots of the snow Mick. This is a good one to start. The scene looks like it could be in my part of the world.

Really good to see this Mick, it's a lovely composition and gets over the joy of a snowfall in the UK. I know there's all the controversy about whether we're prepared enough etc etc but there's something truly wonderful about the nation grinding to a standstill, schools and offices closing, and Mums and Dads heading off to go sledging. Lovely light in this too Mick, it's simple and strong.

This is fantastic! What beautiful light you've captured here! I love what we call the "snow sky" clouds aNd wow, the snow on the fence!! That is just magnificent.
The shadows are gorgeous. And I know one thing...it's a day to light candles, make a fire in the stove or fireplace, and if you have electricity on still, make some cookies, play some games with the family and just enjoy the "peace" while you have it, it goes away so fast.I am enjoying this photo, keeping it, and looking forward to more!! It's snowing here today too! Verena
