Running into something unusual when you least expect it is always a pleasant surprise and this Mallard was no exception when I spotted it resting very, very still no more than twenty metres from me.....Please enjoy

There is something "catchy" about that duck. You gave it some kind of special treatment. It's hard to turn this image off to move on to the next one. I like it.

This is such a beautiful photo! It's truly one of the best photos I've ever seen of a Mallard! When I lived in Louisiana I saw so many of them swimming in the Bayous. And this one has such perfect colours, you've helped show them off, and those grasses, are just awesome. Very nice indeed. Bravo Mick...verena

Really great work Mick, the duck and the nest are in such great detail and very well picked out by the slightly blurred background. Did you use flash here? The bird is very well lit, although it could perhaps have used a little more on the head. I like the way the grasses radiate out around it. Sterling stuff.
