I hope this photograph illustrates these very old treasured historic relics in their full glory....Traction engines and steam rollers appear at rallies and other events all over Great Britain and in many other countries. On these occasions they are visited and admired by thousands of people and are now part of our engineering heritage here in the Uk…..Please enjoy.

I'm fond of historic steam engines Mick, so it's a pity I can't see them with my own eyes, but your image is a very good alternative! Thanks a lot for sharing this excellent post!

I had this in VB and gave it top marks. I love these old engines. I really like the atmosphere you have captured here, you can almost smell the steam smells. When I was a small child, my Auntie Pauline used to rent out one of her farm fields for a steam and traction fair and we used to travel down for it. Always brings back happy memories when I see these lovely ladies. We have a Victorial Extravaganza here as well which attracts a lot of steam engines, and steam powered fair ground rides. This is a wonderful shot indeed Mick x

Very interesting to see you do something other than landscapes with this Mick. The engines are spot on and the sky looks great too. The green of the grass is perhaps a little overblown. There's so much atmosphere in this, I particularly like the mistiness around the funnels.
