I spent my childhood in the Highlands of Scotland and from mid September to mid November you could hear the haunting sound of roaring stags in the hills and glens as the breeding season got underway…Stags are the heaviest at this time of the year and the roaring helps to establish seniority within the herd….Please enjoy.

Whooooaa..

Incredible colours in that sky, Mick.

Quite the supporting act for the stag.

And talk about staging (read; 'setting') ... nicely composed.

Caveats?

Bearing in mind that I am viewing your image on a CRT monitor, a tad dark. A tad.

That said, nothing is taken away from this impressive imagery, as it literally breathes mood and feel.

Thanks for sharing this one with us. :o)

You were lucky to snap these so close Mick mate!...

The rutting calls would be bounding of those rocks as echos....(To entice the other females eh!!!!)

Great capture............glad you shot this...(With a camera, of course)

great image. Very good subject and framing. I love the saturation and tones, but it's quite heavy on the contrast.
