I like all paintings and sculptures of the Crucifixtion… The earliest paintings of the Crucifixtion dates from the 5th century… I was visiting a 90 year old aunt a couple of weeks ago, while certainly not religious she has several Crucifixes hanging around, I think she appreciates them for the same reason I do. One in particular, in her hallway, was so expressive, so emotional, I liked it and decided that I needed to create my own version of the Crucifixtion….I used two photographs to create this picture…The picture of the cross I photographed in a Yorkshire churchyard and the picture of the rocks was photographed on top of a hill in Scotland…After merging the two photos I then converted the picture to mono…Please enjoy.

He died so we could have eternal life. What a gift. A good merge of photos to create an eternal theme, Mick.

I got goose bumps when I opened this one Mick. You captured the darkness that was this day in History. He suffered a lot for us, and we must never forget this. Thanks for sharing this work.

Mick this gave me chill bumps when I viewed it full screen. I love this Crucifixion you have posted. In this day and age when children can't speak of Jesus or pray in school they can wear necklaces of Jesus on the cross and my son wears one proudly to school everyday.
