I was asked by the owner to take headshots of these horses for her daughter……I was on location for over two hours and after taking numerous shots of the horses this is the one that was chosen by the daughter….I have to say it was hard work trying to get these three together to show off not only their beauty but their personalties as well….One of the best things about the experience was how much I enjoyed the actual shoot………Please enjoy.

They are just like kids Mick. To get them to all have their heads up and sorta looking at something is very difficult. They get bored easily and stick the gums to the ground.
The clarity throughout is outstanding. I would be interested in the settings for this particular shot. You must have a very good lens.
Excellent post by the way.

Beautiful job. I did this sort of thing with three children and with each shot, the two year old was a blur. lol I don't think there was a shutter speed fast enough, but in the end I got one of all of them together with a foot or two between them. At one point the mother gave them candy to be good, but then they had big round cheeks full of sweet! You really got a priceless shot here and I'm sure the woman was quite pleased.

Know by own experience that it's very hard to make such a capture, Mick, but you've succeeded doing this in a perfect way.

All you have to do is learn to whinny and you would have all three of them zero in on you in a New York minute. None the less, this is a touching image and the owners of the horses should love it.

This is just lovely - their expressions are so thoughtful. I think they enjoyed all the attention of the photographer.

Mick, I'll second the emotion of those kids... I like this one too! Thanks for posting, so I could get it into my Screensaver folder. Both, my wife and I, love pictures of these majestic animals! Nice sharp shot of the horses with a nice background! Good to have a fence between you and them... (and perhaps a few blades in your hand) otherwise their heads would be buried in the grass at their feet!  :o)

Nice clear sharp image of these handsome specimens. I would suggest cropping out the lower rail on the fence, or perhaps even tilting the image so that the fence runs parallel to the frame.
