A beautiful and very moving tribute Mick - kept for my desktop, thank you.
Although here in NZ we observe 'Poppy Day" on April 25th, Nov 11th always has a place in my heart. April 25th is ANZAC day and it became our remembrance day because in 1921 the shipment of poppies arrived too late for the November date and the RSA distributed them on the next commemoration day, ANZAC day and it has stayed that way ever since. Armistice Day is being recognised more since 2004 when our 'Unknown Warrior' was returned home from the Caterpillar Valley Cemetary, France. "At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them."
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
