This is Maverick, who was found wandering the streets , scared , cold and hungry . He is now in a safe , warm , loving permanent home with my Nephew and his Wife. He is loyal , friendly and loving despite his past . Maverick's story is told all to often in our society . If you can, lend a helping hand to our animal population in need . Speak for those who cannot speak for themselves .

He still has such a sad face. I guess he needs plenty of rest after what he's been through. A superb capture of his feeling Marsha!!! I can't tell you how many cats we took in through our years and loved them all!

From rags to riches, with a few milk bones thrown in. A fine member of the hound family.

You are someone after my own heart, Marsha, as I too have a deep compassion for animals and always worry when I see them wandering the streets...I am soooo glad this is one story that had a happy ending...and I too would love to see more people do what they can to help the animals...they rely on us...a sad face on this guy but things will get better for him and hope we'll see him again sometime...a great closeup and intro.

Maverick is just beautiful Marsha! It was so nice of your family to take him in. My two little dogs were both strays too. Yes, we had to go through tough times with them both, with them baptizing parts of my house, chewing the wrong things, running away to the neighbor's house, etc...but it was worth it for all of the good times, loyalty and love they give us. This is such a nice shot and the expression he has conveys a feeling of safety, comfort and love.

He looks so peaceful and contended. Sometimes it takes a long time before such a dog can be normal again. Nice shat Marsha.

My son-in-law was followed home recently by an abandoned German Shepherd. 'Beowulf' is now dog #3--with a safe, loving home. How can anyone do that to such loyal, loving campanions? Like Maverick, Beowulf is special. Best wishes to your nephew and his new friend.

Marsha, I love a story with a happy ending, with their love I'm sure he will loose that sad face, and have a good life. I have taken in many stray cats over the years, they might just end up being barn cats, but they always have food.

My cat handsome, came to me some years ago, and scared little guy who would just peer at me from under the barn: Now he is a house cat, and the biggest lap cat you ever saw. :)

Wonderful story Marsha I'm glad he's safe with a good home - I agree with your plea 100% - my husband and I have had adopted cats for the last 24 years - they were all wonderful and loving.
