The struggle of the homeless continues in Baton Rouge as it does in many cities in America and in other countries as well . Dan and I came across this graffiti in a homeless section of Baton Rouge . I was struck by the message that some still have hope for their future while others see no way out . As I have said before while some of these people have chosen this way of life .... many have not . I still believe in making our own way and not having a handout at every corner . However there are some good people who have been thrown into this way of life that never believed it would happen to them . So we like many others help those that we can and hope and Pray for their future as well as the others . " Take hope from the heart of man, and you make him a beast of prey. " ~ Quida ~

Very wise words in your narrative, Marsha, accompanied by an image, that in fact, tells its own reality. Live isn't always a fairy tale. It's a pity that too many people can confirm this.
Excellent and thoughtful work!

The message is very touching Marsha. For those who have lost their jobs and cannot find any new employment it is a terrible dilemma. Good of you to help such people.

Since every day is like that movie 'Groundhog Day' - it will serve to be a useful reminder every day!

I believe that providing a leg up is not necessarily a handout... Years ago my husband and I found ourselves facing homelessness through no fault of our own. Our Senior Senator helped us out with the VA, as my husband is a Vietnam-era vet. But this occurred only after I made the effort to make several phone calls. So I can identify with the graffiti in your image, and I too am struck by the message of hope in the middle of despair.

A fantastic shot Marsha showing the plight of many in our world:( Let's pick up who we can and carry them until they can carry themselves-that is real service. Very well captured and presented:)
