This is soooo sweeeet... Your son's facial expression is priceless! It portrays innocence , curiosity and of course exploring! This is so well captured. The lighting is superb and exposed with both subjects in sharp focus! Congrats!

Good morning Lars
This is one of the images in the "Chiaroscuro" contest which I think is a top contender. The capture of innocence and trust between the dual subjects (major and minor), the tone, mood and balance of the frame itself, and the careful application of light and shade to bring the focus to, not just the child's eyes but to the spirit that is imbued in the moment, make this a photo to be proud of.
If I may be permitted just one last comment, and that relates to the editing process. It is always difficult to achieve that balance in portraiture between the human subject and everything else. In the flesh areas in this photo immediately surrounding the highlights it appears that the colour tone has been slightly shifted toward the red. Was this edited from the raw image or from the camera-produced .jpg?
What a beautiful photo! Not only have you captured the innocence of this little child, as Romane mentioned, but the clarity of your photo is just amazing! Even the eyelashes show so well. And you portray that the little one isn't afraid of this strange little bug. It's truly a masterful portrait. I agree with Romane...this is a top notch photo in the contest. So ein suesses bildt....V
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly, like a millionaire intent on going broke
