A pic taken in March 2008 of black beck flowing down between Haystacks & Green crag & on to Buttermere lake in the distance. A freezing cold wind was blowing up the valley, lifting the water from the beck as it flowed over a small waterfall & freezing it to the rocks beside it. Technically not the best capture, but an unusual "of the moment" one off I feel :)

Technically not the best? I'd like to know what's wrong with it. I love this image. What a view. I almost feel airborne when looking out through the crags to that valley below. KEEP-PAH

Love the view down the valley and the frozen mist on the rock face, gives a great sense of being there.

All comments good and bad welcomed.
Not so sloppy on the *technical* side, exposure is perfect, shadows look like shadows but have plenty of detail, the ice looks white but isn't blown and the scene in the distant looks just as it should, comp has the line of the water the line of the shadowline and the line of the ridgeline all converging and leading the eye out to that scenery, dof is excellent and the unique nature of the subject is fantastic.

Thanks for all of the positive comments peeps, it seems to have gone down quite well which is encouraging :-)
"Technically not the best" seems I am a bit over crytical, but I just didn't like the big shadow from the left, maybe should have sat there for a few hours until the sun moved over LOL :)
