First I'd like to welcome you to caedes. I know you'll like it here, lots of good people and interesting creations.I've always heard how beautiful Alaska is, and you sure showed it in this photo. What is the name of that mountain? I always like to know I guess. But I like how it juts up against that gorgeous blue sky and I like very much how you got the Evergreens at the bottom right, that gives the whole photo a lot of depth. I look forward to many more photos of Alaska from you. Thanx so much. Verena
Again welcome. As you may know if you've looked around we comment on the pictures posted, hopefully to be critical in a constructive way so we all learn. I would have lowered the angle and reduced the sky. The trees at the bottom are a nice contrast but seem detached from the landscape too much so including more of them might help. Also the trees are visually more interesting than a bland sky, although a good blue sky as Verena says certainly helps highlight the mountain. I notice some wires as well, the photographer's bane. A lot of people here would say you should remove them and they can be unsightly especially close up. having said all that, the picture composition with the mountain and sky is a good picture, perhaps lacking a little in contrast but with snow and deep shadow in one shot that will always be a hard balance to strike. I too look forward to more pictures.
