Okay .. I need help removing that lightswitch. This is the (almost) original (the color has been adjusted). Theres a difference version where I sort of have the lightswitch removed .. but I don't know how to remove it and having the light/shadow still be there. Need help with this (BTW I'm working on this on Photoshop). Thanks.

A couple ideas .. (soft edges, shadows, gradients = all difficult to work with)

1) .. re-shoot somewhere else or hang a bed sheet in there to cover .. or .. just crop the image at the switches edge

2) .. consider cutting the lamp out and mirroring the same area from the left to the right

3) .. create a selection up the lamp's right side, across the table top, copy it to a new layer (Ctrl+J) then use "transform" from the "edit menu" to flip it horizontally .. and move it into place with the "move arrow"

I like the image and the composition. Since I am so unskilled at Photoshop, etc., I would move the lamp to the left about 2-3 inches and re-photograph it. (Hope there isn't anything on the left wall that catches you at the other end).

Do you know how to use the clone stamp? That's what I would do :) I like this by the way. I would also take out that door frame...very nice composition.

Clone-stamp is the ultimate retouching tool. You can make almost anything appear or disappear. It looks like you could just re-shoot this scene, but it would be good practice with Photoshop to take out the switch and doorframe. My neighbor once asked me to take a picture of his house to send to relatives. He then wanted the next-door house removed so it would appear that he was way out in the country. A few clicks and no one would guess that house had ever been there. I even left the trees in the yard. Definitely learn to use clone-stamp!

yeah ,, but the area that I need to remove needs a light/shadow thing from the lamp.

I think the clone tool would be your best bet. Just play with it until you understand how it works...remember...anything you do can also be undone so have fun with it....Good job!

I think u have done a good job with the photo already. Clone stamp would be a good idea to remove the switch without cropping it. But you should be really careful since there are some light shades there which need lots of attention.

Don't want to heap more on your shoulders, but I'd clone out the seam on the lampshade whle I was at it. All in all, reshooting this image would be the easy way out. However, where's the fun in that?

Well, if it were me, I would take the photo again and just move the lamp over..LOL...maybe add a smaller item next to the lamp? or spring flowers? lol...but if you are in it for only the lamplight, just do a retake eh?.As far as the Clone Stamp? I never could get it to do much...so Im no help on that subject.....verena
