If this picture had a pig in it, it would pretty much sum up Iowa. lol. I took this w/ laurels camera at one of our cross country meets. Tell me what you think and give advice. Thanks!
I like this VERY much...the feel is very very Midwest!! the textures of the corn and the corn husks is great..I think I would have suggested a deep brown frame tho...to give it the warmth it deserves, even a chocolate brown..try a few out and see what you think...But this makes a very nice framed photo!!
I have to agree with Verena on the color of the frame, something to do more justice to the corn & husk. Still, it's a great a great shot & you can practically feel the rough scratchy texture of the husk & brittleness of the kernals. I'm from Ohio & my Uncle Bob had a huge garden every year & as kids we had to weed....& even now we get corralled into helping turn the corn husks back into the ground as fertilizer. So this picture brings back many memories !!! : )
Good job Michael...woot woot. You're welcome for the camera and the computer! =P K I gotta write this essay I'll talk to ya later. Have fun at WalMart! Buhbye...
I am going to be odd one out here I guess. I like the matte and would call it frame ready. There are greys and blacks in the image so it works well with all the general muted colors. I also like the positioning of your cornstalk. I like the dried look. Nicely presented.
I agree with BJ that this is a matte rather than a frame. All that aside I find this very pleasing to the eye. It could use a bit deeper depth of field so the corn was more in focus...but just a tad as too much will reveal the background and ruin the concentration on the corn. Haah, it reminds me of some kind of mumification with the drying corn wrapped by the husk. I think it would also look nice in a duotone;-)
