It was bitterly cold where I live yesterday. I could have stayed at home by a warm fire but Caedes has done something strange to my brain which made me take my camera out and about. By 5.30pm I was at Kakanui beach, just as the sun was sinking. With the sun on the rocks and the beginning of a rainbow as a storm brewed over the sea there was the oportunity for some lovely shots. Unfortunately the several I took are poor quality. I think my shivering hands had something to do with it :) Plus the fact that a wave was too quick tor me and soaked my feet. I decided to post this one anyway, and hope some of you may enjoy it. The hint of rainbow is the shadow of the main one which was to the left and out of the shot beause I wanted the seagulls in it.

Well worth getting wet and freezing for this shot... =) great colours, like the light shining on the rocks makes it stand out against the dark blues, love the dark storm clouds with a touch of rainbow... excellent shot, the frame really sets off the image by bringing out the blues even more... beautiful work..

What a sacrifice to make us all impressed and delighted! The weather conditions must have been tough. But I believe it was worth going out to see all the nature forces in action?

What a marvelous photograph. There is nothing better then watching a storm as it rolls in over the sea. With the lighting from the sun lighting up the rocks with the mix of the dark clouds and rain. This is very well captured. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Shining the sun on the rocks, and the imminent clouds on the context.
Also the frame is beautiful.

Composition, clarity, sharpness! Don't think I left anything out. Fabulous capture. The image was well worth the "hardships" you endurered. The good shots don't wait for us, we have to wait for them.
