This locomotive came to New Zealand in the 1920's. I am not sure when it 'retired' . It has been restored by our local Steam & Rail Society and now does short scenic trips along the coastline.
A bit of information about B10
"B-10 is a Hudswell, Clarke locomotive, Makers Number 1542 and was built in 1924 for Armstrong Whitworth & Co who were contractors building part of the East Coast Main Trunk Line.
B-10, like her sister locomotive B-11, were built by Hudswell, Clarke & Co. Ltd of Leeds, England.
It is a 16 ton 0-4-0 saddle-tank locomotive with 10in by 16in cylinders and 2ft. 9in. in diameter wheels.
B-10 and B-11 were numbers given to the locomotives by Armstrong Whitworth."
These 'old Soldiers' are great! the Old Steam Puffers we used to call them!....There are a few being restored and in use where I live.....They are a great tourist attractions..especially for the young ones! who have never 'grown' up with these....
Thank you for giving us a little bit of History back!!!
** To all my dear friends, I will be missing from Caedes, from the 24th June...touring and vacationing!.....Will miss you all...but will have great 'goodies' for you when I return!!!**
All aboard! :)
I really like this shot. It reminds me of the locomotives that they use at Disney World to take you around the Magic Kingdom. Your perspective lines are great, making it look like the train might just come out of my monitor. I bet it made a great sound too... chug-a-lug-a-chug-a-lug-a... choo choo!
I love old steam engines almost as much as horses. This is a great capture. I have not seen this model. It has obviously had perfect care. The colors are wonderful. Thks for sharing.

WOW. What a lovely old steam engine. We in Australia have a couple that have been restored aswell but not like this one. Great capture and great work on the framing. This makes for a lovely wallpaper

This is a wonderful bit of nostalgia! I have never seen this train, but I can picture it quite well! Memories of my childhood and the old coal trains..........
I am still extremely busy with projects but hopefully things should slow down by the end of the summer. Please know that I appreciate you all and will stop by and visit your images as often as I can. My best to all my friends.
Sincerely,
Carrie
