A calm afternoon at a stretch of shoreline close to where I live. Hope you enjoy this, especially PatAndre who I know likes blue water. :) This is close to a penguin colony and every night at dusk they can be seen waddling ashore and up the hill to their nesting boxes.

Yes, yes, yes I hope the rest will agree with me. We want to see these pinguins! Is there any chance you could capture them for us? This photo however is truely beautiful. The blue waters and the skies are cristal clear and well saturated. It looks like a quiet and impressive view to me.

In answert to Ewa's question - sadly no :( There are very strict controls at penguin return time and no cameras are allowed. The flashes scare the birds and then they might not return to their nests and the poor little babies would die.

Blue penguins are the smallest of the world's 17 species of penguin. Standing just 25cm high and weighing 1 kilogram, they can be found around the coast of New Zealand and in Southern Australia.
Unusual habits
The blue penguin has some habits which make it hard to view - they come ashore after dark and live underground in burrows. Luckily, they don't mind coming ashore under special lighting, making it possible for visitors to see them as they return home from their day at sea.
Stay at homes
Blue penguins stay around their colony all year, although they may make long foraging trips in the non-breeding period. This means that there are always some penguins to see, although peak numbers occur during the breeding season (Sept-Jan). "

I also love the cliffs and rocks in this one. Something about the color and detail in them that grabs the eyeball upon first viewing this exquisite piece of art.
