North Otago coast, New Zealand. With this I tried to capture the almost luminous glow to the countryside as storm clouds gathered on this late afternoon. It was one of those days when you could feel the electricity in the air. The wildfire flashing above the hills avoided capture :)

Very lovely, Eve. I tried for the wildfire, not really knowing what it was. Added lots of saturation and a little contrast, and came up with a rather exotic painting, which I never would have thought possible, without a paint program, or filter.

LynEve, this photo is very striking - dramatic with those threatening clouds and the lighting matches the mood perfectly. Great composition, too - a real keeper! - Patty

Amazing photograph. I love the storm clouds that hover over the mountain side and the lush greenness of the grass. I like the waves and the way they are crashing against the shore line. I also like the framing you have used. Great work

Hey Lyn, I am very jealous that you live in such a beautiful place. New Zealand is somewhere I have always wanted to go. This is a lovely shot, I know what you mean by the feel of the storm coming. I live smack in the centre of Canada and though we are inland, we get some wicked storms. I'll walk outside and I can smell the storm on it's way. The air and light take on a totally different appearance and scent, and ya know it's gonna be a wacker of a storm. Do you guys get fork lightning being on the coast? Some oceanside towns don't, but then others are riddled with it. Coastal Florida USA is full of very scarry lightning, but I lived on the east coast of Canada and never saw a bolt once. When we moved back to central Canada my husbands jaw dropped when he saw a good lightning storm. I was happy to oblige. We also get aurora borealis(notheren lights) here which he also saw for the first time. And that's quite a sight. One definite good reason to vacation in Canada. Thanx for sharing your pic. I like the frame you used too. Cheers!!.........................Amaris
