After more than 12 hours flying it was wonderful to see this first sight of New Zealand and I knew I was nearly home. I am uncertain as to which mountain it is but I think it is Mt Tongariro. I hope someone from that area may be able to confirm this. I was not sure whether to put this in Mountains or Skies lol . . . . .Kodak V550

Definitely mountains Lyn but the clouds are amazing. You've outdone yourself with this one (and you set a pretty high standard for yourself:) It's spectacular. Though I haven't been across the Tasman yet, I imagine it takes a bloody good photographer to do justice to the landscape and you have definitely done that. Well done my antipodean friend.

What an excellent image!! So well done and surprised you got it at just right moment...great work! I recall the first time I saw my homeland through the window: I cried for an hour and had this sense of peace.........

Isn't it amazing what you can get from an airplane? This is really amazing with the mountain peeking through the clouds.

Wow the manufacturers these days must have worked out a new way to create thick glass that is easy to shoot pics through. This isn't the first clearly taken shot through a window that I've seen lately. Perhaps our cameras are getting bettter, no matter. it's a one-of-a-kind shot and super to beat :)PJ

I know there was luck involved in the clouds parting at just the right time, but you have capitalized on it brilliantly. This is a super presentation. I know how you feel. On the rare occasions I can see Mt. Hood peeking through the clouds I know I am home as well.
