Wallflower crying in the rain.. . . . . "The sweet-smelling flowers of 'Cheiranthus cheiri' came to be called wallflowers because they often grow on old walls, rocks, and quarries. The plant name is first recorded in 1578. It is not known who first made the comparison between these delicate flowers and the unpartnered women sitting along the wall at a dance, but the figurative sense is first found in an 1820 work by Mrs. Campbell Praed entitled County Ball."......... wow! beautiful!!!! the contrast is amazing and the clarity is spot on! I also love the framing. I know you use PSP which is what I use mostly - now I need to know are you making these frames or have you got some in a program which you use with PSP? This image should score very high in the VB! Patti

Great color and veining on these little flowers, excellent capture with the water droplets, nice restrained framing, and, of course, a delightfully informative description.

So, that's where the expression "wallflower" came from? Very pretty color, they are. Nice framing work also. Excellent.

Exciting flora Lyn!! The DOF seems a wee off and would’ve liked to seen a little smaller border / frame works on this one, but, that’s probably just me tired eyes talkin’. Fantastic colorations to the piece!!

Picture Purrrfect . Some people are like slinky's, completely useless but still a lot of fun when you push them down the stairs. 8~O

I found the information you sent with this fascinating, as I've heard and used the term before, but never realized there was an actual flower that went along with the expression. It's a lovely flower, and taken so well. I happen to like the framing as it gives it a place to "live"...a wall, if you will :) Now, I'll never feel insulted again when being called a wallflower :)PJ

The colour and texture of these are wonderful Lyn and the composition is first rate, the way the blooms trail and fade into the background. Supurb image.
