Yesterday this rich red velvet dahlia was the first in my garden to open its smiling face to the sun. In appreciation of Kelcey's (snapgragonk) never failing rich sense of humour. Keep smiling Kelcey :)

Tough act for the rest of your garden to follow if this was the first opening of the day. A gorgeuos bloom with almost wax-like petals healthy and vibrant. Beautiful post Eve ... Beautiful!

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.
Does it smell as good as it looks? You caught the velvet-factor so well in this and the color is perfect - not too bright - just rich and deep.. a great desktop!
