“But Shakespeare also says, 'tis very silly `To gild refinèd gold, or paint the lily' ” ~ ~ ~Lord Byron ~ ~ ~ ~This lily was grown by a friend. I decided not to 'mess' with it - straight off the camera, except for resizing . . . . .Panasonic DMC-FZ7. . . . . Thank you for viewing, I hope you enjoy it and I welcome your comments :)

As luck would have it ... I saw this post first before "Three Hearts". I thought this one was a real winner ... these pure white Lilies are just beautiful against the ebon backdrop. Outstanding composition. And as luck would have it you've got an old coot here who makes snap judgements viewing so many wonderful images here at Caedes. I guess what I'm doing here is awkwardly stumbling for the right words to tell you ... this one spoiled me. After seeing this one "Three Hearts" with the same subject broken up as it were, just seemed the lesser image by quite a margin. Lord ... never thought I'd be typing a "sour note" in a comment on one of your flower images. Perhaps the coffee I made this morning is a tad strong and my evil personna has come to the forefront. I'll leave no comment on "Three Hearts" ... COWARD THAT I AM. A thousand pardons my Lady. :o) (*Grabs coffepot and pours contents down the drain*)

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

No need to mess with it. It's perfectly lovely just as it is. The clarity is awesome and the composition is superb.

Outstanding details, yet with a very dreamy quality on the overall take Eve!! Sweet ‘n’ simple frame and I’m really diggin’ the textures in the backdrop!!

I really like the clarity and composition and the lovely way these lilies jump off the screen at you and they are in my faves on my hard drive. but I really don't like the background. I like the color, but the texture reminds me too much of a towel. I have no idea what it really is, but it is a small thing and it's just a quirk of mine....beautiful post, my dear.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Gorgeous! Beautifully done. I don't care for the backdrop being right there though. If you move it a foot or two away, it should blur and then you'd have a nice dark backdrop. Then again, what am I giving YOU advice for? You do some nice work, lady.
