The color combo of the yellow 'n' green against the black really gives this that 1, 2 knock-out punch babe!! Minimalistic makes for a pleasing viewing pleasure!!

Black is definitely the right background color for this shot! Really makes the colors of the flowers jump off the screen! Your quote to go with it is beautiful as well..
