Cars can be driven across the top of Aviemore Dam. As I never feel comfortable up there it was a quick nip out and a few quick clicks as I wanted to capture the different hues in parts of the water. I have already posted two individual pictures and decided to attempt a stitch-up to show you the whole thing. I made two attempts, one using Canon PhotoStitch and this one using the demo version of Autostitch which looked the best. If you have not tried Autostitch it is well worth a look at.

You're good with the camera and no slouch when it comes to using a needle and thread. Beautiful panorama Eve ... very nice work. Love the play on words in the title. LOL

Very nice Lyn...makes it worth it when you can join them to make a dam big one eh!

This is a wonderful view..the many hues are obvious, and well captured!...

A little tip!...when shooting 'stitchers' try overlapping your images by about a third!...this gives the programme a chance to 'knit' it together a lot better!....also...shoot in 'A' (aperture mode! not on Auto!...the auto made picks out a different setting on each shot!.......

You are so lucky to have scenes like this!....very nicely done!

*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!* Dunstickin's Gallery

Thanks Eve! I just downloaded Autostitch and did a panorama! What fun! Thanks for the link! Mine isn't half a nice as this one above, but I had never intended to make a panorama with them. This shot(s) is fantastic with the blues and the ripples and everything. Wonderful work!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

A great looking shot. The sky and lighting are off the hook and the lake isn't bad either. Very nicely done.

Eve that’s one Cracker Jack photo you got there. The tones and shadings are gorgeous, the scenery and clouds are fabulous.

PS: I agree, Autostitch leaves everything else for dead.

Hi Lyn, this image is excellent, as indicated from all of the rave reviews above. I've one question. The sun, it is very prominent in the shot. How did you avoide flare and overwhelming the exposure? ND filter or??? Thanks
