The three bridges spanning the Conwy estuary in North Wales, UK. Conwy suspension bridge (centre) was designed and built by Thomas Telford (1757-1834) and was completed in 1826. Close by the Castle, the supporting towers match the castle's turrets. It replaced the ferry, which was previously the only means of crossing the river. Conwy Tubular Bridge (right) was built by Robert Stephenson (1803-59) to carry the railway across the estuary and was officially opened in 1849. The road bridge was completed in 1958. . .
