A great perspective on these walls. I think men used whatever was available to them and created walls and dividers since the beginning of time. I too marvel at how they were able to put stone upon stone without them falling down as mine surely would have. We have many of these throughout the farmlands of NE.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Very nice Lyn. I like the angle and the mtns in the background and the lovely little flower add a nice touch. It is hard to imagine how hard this had to be to do compared to these days.

Wonder how long it would have taken to erect this section of the wall. Fabulous capture including the mountains in background.

After a bit of an absence, partly vacation but mostly tax season...busy for bookkeeping businesses... I'm glad to be back out here with at least 'some' regularity. I've missed everyone and am glad to have a little more time again.

great shot Lyn! I have so many like this - I can never get over the miles and miles of stone walls there are and the craftsmanship that went into building them. I watched a young man crafting a wall at an exhibition at my work recently - such patience! ....well done on this shot and the angle is perfect!

As Cindy mentioned, there are a lot of them here in NE and many of them are still quite large. I recently learned that it was not unusual for them to be built as wide as four feet across.

Not so much planning but a lot of sorting must have gone into the effort in making these walls. Interesting photo and an interesting thought.
