A little dedication to 3 members - CINDY with thanks for her "Why Flowers?" posting, JACQUELINE with thanks for the inspiration from her beautiful Banksia picture which sent me out to shoot this Aussie immigrant in my garden, and PHIL, because it is 'different' and is definitely not a rose:)

I was just looking at the link that Jacqueline had provided with her pic of this most unusual plant and it's amazing how small an area supports this. Nicely done, as always, and the people to whom it's dedicated certainly deserve the recognition :)

Lyn, never too old to learn as I can't remember that I ever saw a 'banksia'. Strange but beautiful plant/flower (?) to me. Will search for additional info as your image made me curious. Regards, Cornelius

Your Banksia looks definitely better than the other one and the ones in Wikipedia. Yours looks as though the Maori family has carefullyweaved and knotted it together! :) It looks beautiful and so symmetrical.

I blushingly acknowledge your kind dedication with much thanks and say WOW, that is really an amazing plant! I love the colors and the details and contrasts in the image are sensational. Don't laugh, but somehow it reminds me of velcro. Now I'm going to the link you graciously provided. Thanks, Eve! You really are very sweet you know!~~~

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
