Another shot of the Chinese Bridge On Monday, just a week after I took these pictures the Chinese garden was decimated by flood waters strewing debris and uprooting plants, virtually turning it into a qaugmire. The worst flooding in the area for 20 years caused This gentle stream that runs through the gardens to overflow, and become a raging torrent. The cleanup has begun and Mother nature will do her work. Some local areas had States of Emergency declared and folks evacuated from their flooded homes, along with roads being closed etc. Fortunately the rain stopped after 2 days and things are returning to normal. . .Panasonic DMC-FZ7.. Thank you for taking a look.Any comments are most welcome and always appreciated.

You know what Lyn..this is exactly what has happened recently in my 'neck o' the woods' with all these storms we have had....

Taking some photo's down by a local stream I frequent...There was a huge gush of water, torrenting down and I was damn lucky to get away from it!...thanks for the info and this beauty of a post!...

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

So glad you went when you did, hard to imagine the devastation with such a calm serene capture.

This is beautiful -- very well composed. I'm really glad you got these pics before the place flooded.

Great shot this time from a different angle. It is happening all over the world, Lyn - We all have to do something to protect our planet. It can't be left to the politicians!

Lyn, what a story. As Raj said above, the weather is strange this time of the year almost all over the world. In Holland, April was beautiful like summer, but our regular summer months May, June and July seemed to autumn. Hope anyhow that the situation will soon return to normal and will be again soon like this beautiful image shows us. Regards, Cornelius

Awww that is truly ashame Eve, it seems like lately you're either flooded or there's no rain and things are drought stricken. I hope it gets back to normal soon. :) Nice job by the way.

That's a darned shame! But this shot beforehand has so many wonderful natural elements combining with the man made bridge to make a very beautiful setting.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

What a shame, I am so glad you had a chance to capture it before hand. Flooding has been such a problem here in the UK as well this year.

Nicely composed shot...sorry to hear about the damage done. Last winter brought torrents of rain to our area and did a lot of damage to many of the places I like to hike. Slowly but surely, with a lot of work, it'll be restored.

How sad to think of this lovely peaceful scene being damaged by flood waters, but with time and a good bit of hard work I am sure it will be restored.
