Beautiful, natural setting here Eve. This one has it all, water, wood and wildflowers, not to mention gravel for a great mix of textures and colors. Very nice and I love the framing. =)
Several of my photos are available for purchase in larger format at Shutterpoint, and some are also available in high quality framed prints at http://djholmes.imagekind.com/

How could you NOT take this shot, especially with those wonderful, colorful wild flowers nearby? There is beauty everywhere if you have the eyes to see it and you certainly do.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

I had one heck of a time deciding which fave folder to put it in...it's got it all and all that clarity is just icing on the cake, my dear. I love this shot..not crazy about the framing, but that's neither here nor there!! :)
"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web." Pablo Picasso
This is a nicely composed shot, Lyn, with a clever eye to see the possibilities of the flowers surrounding the log. I like the grey background too, but I'm afraid I'm not so keen on the yellow borderline as it seems to hem in the picture too much, making a quiet scene look a bit busy. I wonder how it would look with the yellow border deleted and the margins of the photo given "rough" edges, like the ends of broad brush-strokes? Just a thought; and keep up the great work!
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.
