Chatham Island Forget-me-not (Myosotidium Hortensia). Endemic to the Chatham Islands where it grows naturally. A large plant - 30 to 60 cm in height with leaves the size of dinner plates :) The CHATHAM ISLANDS are a group of 10 in the Pacific, east of NZ, with a population of <700, with no public transport . The first place in the world to see the light of each new day, and it has 18 species of birds unique to the islands. But you don't want a geography lesson lol - enjoy the flower. This plant grows in the garden of my work, and I took this picture last spring.Even after flowering the leaves remain spectacular. . .Panasonic DMC-FZ7.. Thank you for taking a look.Any comments are most welcome and always appreciated.

Like the info. Especially about first place to see light of day. I didn't know that. Flower seems to be jumping off the screen. Very vibrant.

Enjoyed the geography lesson and the beautiful blue flowers. They are so different from the Myosotis from around here and much, much larger. Great job on the framing as always.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Lyn, thanks for both the 'geographic refreshment course'(lol) and the beautiful flower image. The deep blue colours of the flowers are really wonderful. Regards, Cornelius

I love the whole upload...to me the greens on those leaves are just as beautiful as the flowers that adorn them. Excellent job, my friend.

I love it! Very vivid colours and somehow reminds me of a plant that used to grow in my garden when I was a kid, even though it doesnt look very similar!
