The 2km road tunnel was completed in 1964 and is currently the longest road tunnel in New Zealand. A rail tunnel has existed since 1867...Panasonic DMC-FZ7.. Thank you for taking a look.Any comments are most welcome and always appreciated.

Fantastic idea, Eve! I feel like I am speeding through this well lit tunnel, but as with all tunnels, I am so glad when I get to the other end. Great shot.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

super shot Lyn! I have tried this several times when I have been driving through the tunnel which goes under one of Manchester Airport's runways. I have yet to capture something this good! well done! Love the lines!

ps apologies for the lack of comments this week. I have been very busy and am also packing for my holiday at the weekend to Spain - you know what we women are like - decisions, decisions! :) Patti

I can really get the feeling of motion. Hope you weren't driving. Love the brightness of it all.

Lyn, not a 'traditional' shot from you, but a surprising one, showing your versatility. It gives me really the idea that I'm driving at a high speed through this tunnel. Wonderful work. Regards, Cornelius

Great shot, Lyn. The fact that the tunnel is practically empty of traffic makes this photo all the more interesting. Great colours too.

Now, I've looked at this vision until I'm about dizzy, and I think that either we're headed for disaster here with all three of those cars coming straight for us, or you're in the back seat with your camera pointed out the back window...???? However you did it, you certainly did it up golden! Saved !!
