Definitely a sign of spring. I love them when they first appear. It's like a confirmation that it's definitely time for the seasons to shift!

Oh what a great closeup of a wonderful flower that is much taken for granted.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Wow! What a crisp shot of a beautiful miniature flower. The subject reminds me of an acquaintance who was doing a botanical survey. He had a small card checklist where, to save space, the Latin names of the plants were all abbreviated. He was a little nonplussed to find that for sweet violet (Viola odorata) the abbreviation was Viol. odor., sounding just like "vile odour"! I guess that just goes to show that the old adage about truth being stranger than fiction is absolutely right! :)
