Ramad is right, full screen really brings out the detail and color. Love the raindrops. Into the flower folder it goes.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Lyn, perhaps the way you've captured this tulip is a little bit unusual, but inventive too as the tulip fills the whole screen now. Stunning image. Thanks for all the beauty you offer us with your posts! Regards, Cornelius

How do you do it? sigh I'll never understand how you can get such perfect results from a red in the sun like that..amazing. Perhaps it has something to do with the camera having those raindrops to focus on? At any rate..in my faves, and thanks!!!

Hi Lyn,
as per your request, here are a few personal remarks on this image:
I find it technically flawless, in particular the colour rendering is impressive. The composition is unusual, and I also like that. The water drops make it really special. When i come to the colour composition, well, I suspect this is why it was not well received by a few people. I am not an expert in the subject, but I have been looking at resources on the web on coulour theory recently, and they seem to point out that red and yellow are very prominent colours. This means that in this picture there is so much red that it can be a bit overwhelming. Have you tried how it looks in b/w?
On the other hand, if I look at the other comments you have received, there are enough people quite happy with the picture as it is (and this now also includes me), so maybe you should not worry about the c-index. You cannot please all the people all the time after all.

Hello Lyn.
Interesting stuff for a positive and negative criticism :-)
I like: the deepness of the red color, the light coming from left and the very good focusing.
I don't like: the composition. Why? I think that the flower is really too large in the image, IMO.
