I tried to create an a painted look to this by adding a canvas texture. This plant grows in my neighbour's garden - other varieties may be seen here Here . . They are part of the Protea family endemic to South Africa, evergreen shrubs which grow between 1 - 16m tall. .Panasonic DMC-FZ7 and PSP.. Thank you for taking a look.Any comments are most welcome and always appreciated.

Another lovely shot with a great sense of depth. I actually think it doesn't need the canvas texture as the image is strong enough in its own right, but it's still very good anyway. As ever.

The painted look seems to be very suitable but can't say if it is better than the natural look. Beautifull flowers with strong colours - a real "Neighbour's Pride" :)

I don't usually like textures over nature photos but this one seems subtle and suitable.
Very nice bright colours and a lovely border.

I believe texture look works here. Bright colors and of course great framing. I would like to see original photo.

Beauty! I love that filter and you have carried the effect, quite successfully, right into the framing. This is gorgeous and the darker red you chose for the frame seems to bring up the light in the photo. Nice work, Eve, really nice work.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

It's nice!! However, yup there's a however...sorry!! The frame color should be more a yellow to draw the viewer into the pic. Think 3rd most predominant color. White could work here as well. Sensational flowers, that's for sure!!

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round?? Picture Purrrfect .

Haven't had much opportunity to participate of late. Going through your gallery to see what I've missed, (I do miss my morning pick me up of a lovely LynEve posting.) ... and I've missed plenty dear Lady. This one really appealed to me. Dazzling and vivid color, nicely composed and focused. Very complimentary frame ... to borrow a word from your title ... "Perfection" ... textured or not.
