A close up of the NZ Native Ice Plant (Disphyma australe), Horokaka in Maori, taken on my 'Aquamarine' walk. It is such a common sight here it is taken for granted - it is quite pretty and very tough. Take a LOOK HERE to see why I did not linger long on my knees to get this shot - its a very very long drop down into the sea lol. Two more to go in this little group, taken at the end of my walk back at the harbour.. .Panasonic DMC-FZ7.. Thank you for taking a look.Any comments are most welcome and always appreciated. It has to be tough to survive under those conditions I suppose. Your "Look Here" would make a great post, Lyn.
Very seldom you would get a close up of flowers with a frothing sea as background.

Lyn, I followed the given link and I assume (I'm not quite sure) that I saw several years ago a quite similar, not blooming, variant of this plant at the coasts of Dorset and Devon. The climate is very mild there, so think you'll have similar climate conditions there in New Zealand. That could be a reason that those plants are blooming even in 'salty' conditions. Wonderful image again! Regards, Cornelius

Gorgeous flower and image, Eve. I love the way you have extended the image with the matching and lovely green border giving full attention to the pretty bloom.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I followed the link but luckily I was being careful where I stepped. Water looked cold and rocky. Great photo and so clear. Very nice Lyn.
