I'm still fascinated by those mighty engines, Lyn. The used techniques are still wonderful! It will not surprise you when I say that this is a reason too that I love this image. Thanks for this beautiful image! Regards, Cornelius

A prize winner! Nice colors (never mind the sky) and composition. The steam adds to the beauty of it.

I go loco for these train shots. I visualize Butch and Sundance lying in wait at some remote bend of the tracks. Very good shot Lyn.

I love old puffers too. I want a ride in the cab of one before I die. I would have preferred more of a side view of this train, enough to better see the wheels with those big steel drivers.

Good capture.

I know I'm repeating what's been said already, but I couldn't pass up commenting on this beauty of an upload, and somehow it was gratifying to me that you link the two pics and we got to see what the gentleman was waiting for...a bit of closure, I suppose.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

What a marvellous loco! It looks like something straight out of "The Railway Children". I see it has got an unfavourable C-Index rating, which is a sure sign that it's high on creativity and originality.
