New Zealand Fur Seals basking at the breeding colony, Tauranga Bay, Cape Foulwind, Westland. Pups are born late November and the females live at the same colony all their lives. Despite the name given to the area by Captain Cook in 1770 when he struck particularly foul weather, the Cape is a great place to visit, and the antics of the seals provide hours of entertainment.Thank you for viewing :) Any comments, advice etc always welcome. A great shot, Lyn. They seem to be unaware (or don't care!) of your presence. Nicely presented with a lovely frame.

The sea looks great and there is so much texture and movement in this..the colours are lovely and the seals bring it alive.

The seals sort of blend with the rocks. The water is so churned up that is must be very craggy at this point and I guess the seals can feel safe here as they bask in the sun on a warm rock. Shooting downward can be hazardous on a precipice like this I would think. lol
