One of five limestone boulder fields in the Castle Hill area, Porters Pass. Being able to climb all year round makes them one of the most popular bouldering areas in NZ. If you squint a bit and look very closely lower mid left you will see some tiny human figures which give some idea of the height of these rocks. . .Thanks for viewing. Opinions, advice or any comments most welcome and appreciated...Panasonic DMC-FZ7

Yes, I see the people, and yes..those are some huge boulders. I love your countryside, and I love the sky in this shot. Super.

I can imagine how these huge rocks were thrown high up in the air by a volcanic explosion millions of years ago. The black hills and that sky behind look almost fearsome.
Wonderful capture, Lyn.

You've certainly pulled many elements in here to create this fantasy/reality scene. Excellent work, as always, Eve!

Wow, that is impressive; the shot and the size of the rocks both! I really like the deep colors of the landscape as well. This is such an amazing landscape and if you hadn't mentioned the humans, I would have noticed them.

Very well composed and an interesting scene but, at the risk of disagreeing with so many other comments above, for me the huge boulders are a bit too stark. I assume this has been HDR'd / Bobonised?
