A sleepy young Fallow Deer. . . The Romans most likely introduced fallow deer (Dama dama) to England from Turkey in about 150 AD. Nearly 1900 years later some of these fallow were taken from England to New Zealand. Fallow deer became established in New Zealand following 24 releases between 1860 and 1910. . . . I love how deer will just sit there and nod off right in front of you. Nice textures in this too on her coat and the grass, and I like that little patch of light just above her as well.
