It was a nondescript sort of day - neither warm nor cold and quite dull. Just before 6pm it became warmer, not at all like winter. The slight breeze dropped until it was completely still. Even the birds stopped singing and all was quiet. The sun was about to set. I took my camera outside and sat on the patio and waited for the show - I was not disappointed. That sounded like the calm before the storm Lyn but I see that the old sailors' saying " Red in the morning, Sailor take warning - Red at night, Sailor's delight" is only true here and that it is a peaceful evening. Great capture!

I love these sorts of shots. If you half close your eyes it looks as if you are looking at a whole new landscape with mountains and clouds.

Sometimes here in the winter after a cloudy dull day the sun will peek under the clouds just before it goes down and give us just a sliver of brilliance. You have captured so much more than that. The entire sky looks like molten lava. Superb!
